I especially enjoyed your candid commentary about the significance of this topic as well as your additional research about the contemporary legacies of some of the consequences of industrial slavery. There is absolutely a much longer history of incarceration and police brutality that began during this period around urban/industrial centers where enslaved people worked. Your discussion of recent stop and frisk policies within the last few years accurately bridges these legacies, and we can only hope that increasing awareness will result in real change. Your podcast was thoughtful and compelling, I would listen to a whole series of those episodes!
