Hello everyone, I am Ashish. I am currently admitted to Broad College of Business and a recent admit in Supply Chain Management major. Leaving my official introduction aside, I was born and raised in India in a small town named Raichur. Being a family guy, it was hard for me to stay away thousands of miles away from my family for the first two years of my undergraduate, but I am home now, with my family and I think COVID-19 has also little perks in ways to spending time with the family.
Looking through the course schedule, I am definitely interested in researching and doing data visualizations in week ten. Though I am also nervous about the same topic, I think this will lay a good foundation for my future works in research and visual analytics. I have also had some previous in data visualizations in ITM 209, but it was only a glance, I hope I will learn more about it here.
I think doing Digital history online is a perfect fit. Digging data without physically contacting people living in different areas will be tough, but this will be our practice. Transitioning to online has definitely affected me enormously, but it will also change my style of doing work, I may also experience other different ways of doing things and learning knowledge. Taking this history class online has opened up many different possibilities.
Hi Ashish! Thank you for your thoughtful post! I completely agree that although there are many bad things about the pandemic, I am also grateful that I am able to be around my family so much.
I am glad to hear that you are looking forward to the weeks on data visualizations, and I look forward to learning more about your previous experiences with making visualizations!
I look forward to hearing more from you this semester!
